Job Description

Bennett & Philp Lawyers are seeking an enthusiastic Business Development Manager who is interested in driving their career forward with a well-established and respected law Firm.

Bennett & Philp Lawyers are an established Commercial Law Firm who requires a Business Development Manager to take control of all marketing and event activity and act as a business partner in managing the development of quality marketing strategies.  Reporting to the Managing Directors this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of business development and marketing related strategies and initiatives.

The Firm has a Brisbane office with international affiliation with Meritas and you will be working from our Brisbane City office.  If you want the opportunity to take control of your role and career, this is an exciting hands-on role for an experienced Business Development Manager.

The position involves:-

  • Maintaining brand recognition.
  • Implement supporting Practice Area plans and Individual Business development plans across the Firm, assisting lawyers in building their BD skills.
  • Hands on experience in Web site design, performance maximization and content maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain active Social Media programs, including video content.
  • Design brochures and support material, co-ordinate events.
  • Assist and encourage lawyers to write media and social media articles and newsletters.
  • Drafting content for release internally, on the website, LinkedIn, or as press releases, particularly in relation to specific deals and transactions.
  • Conduct, research and evaluation of Marketing Projects.
  • Proactively build and maintain effective working relationships with partners, managers, other staff, clients and external service providers.
  • Report regularly to stakeholders on activities and outcomes.
  • Writing, submitting and updating tender precedents including practice group descriptions and firm policy text.
  • Events.

We are looking for an applicant to have:-

  • Broad marketing background, with relevant Law Firm experience.
  • Demonstrated skill in strategic planning and implementation of a marketing plan.
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing or related discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
  • Advanced skill in relevant Microsoft and design software.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence to relate directly with lawyers to develop and copy write articles.
  • Recognise and develop opportunities to publish content on current news articles, firm promotions and initiatives.
  • Team management experience.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with team members and clients.
  • Have interests in and pursue goals outside of work
