Bennett & Philp Lawyers is a well-known mid-sized Commercial Law firm located in the Brisbane CBD. With over 30 fee earners across the firm and an established and respected Litigation and Business Advisory teams, we are looking for three outstanding law graduate/PLT students or 0-1 years PAE lawyers. These graduate positions will be with either our Disputes & Litigation or Business Advisory teams and candidates should have either a demonstrated focus and interest in Litigation or Commercial law. These roles are full time, and you will be working in our CBD office.
You will work across all areas of either our Business Advisory team including but not limited to business sales and purchases (e.g. pharmacies, shopping centres), mergers, franchising, contracts and agreements, finance, loans & securities and lender services and tax law or Disputes & Litigation team including but not limited to building and construction, employment, insolvency, intellectual property and general litigation matters and you must be willing to support the sections in all areas of law. You must have a desire and interest in either area or already be working in the area and looking to grow your experience and assist in further developing a busy practice. You will be mentored by Senior Associates and Directors in a supportive environment.
Duties & responsibilities will include:
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents
- Liaising with clients and third parties
- Undertaking general administrative duties where needed including briefs, file and matter management
- Undertaking legal research
- Progression to management of files under supervision
You must:
- Have already completed your undergraduate law degree and have commenced or be on your way to commencing your PLT
- Have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with team members, including the Firm’s administration teams and clients
- Have the drive to build your own brand to set yourself apart from the rest
- Have excellent in MS Word and formatting skills
- Display initiative, energy and a willingness to learn
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Have interests in and pursue goals outside your studies and work
