Nicole is an Associate with Bennett & Philp Lawyers.
As a qualified Solicitor, Electrical Engineer and Trade Marks Attorney, Nicole’s qualifications and practical experience allows Nicole to fully comprehend the nexus of the law, technology and business to provide advice to her clients which is both commercially sensible and technically practical.
Nicole’s legal experience includes:

commercialisation of trade marks, designs, copyright and patents, including drafting licence, distribution, supplier and assignment documents, conducting due diligence investigations and providing restructuring advice;

Intellectual Property litigation including, trade mark, patent, copyright and domain name disputes and associated misleading and deceptive conduct, confidential information and passing off disputes;

Software theft litigation including misuse of confidential information;

drafting software development agreements, software and website terms of use, privacy policies and associated documentation;

Domain Name dispute resolution including the .com, .au and .nz domain space; and
-
providing advice on use of various technologies such as peer-to-peer networks, encryption and RFID devices.
Prior to entering the law Nicole worked for 10 years as a software engineer, senior analyst programmer and team leader. Her experience spans a range of industry sectors including the telecommunications, e-commerce, encryption, military and wireless communication. This experience allows Nicole to make a connection with her clients on a practical level and allows her to build and maintain client relationships.
Prior to joining Bennett & Philp in 2011, Nicole worked as a commercial property Solicitor and Trade Marks Attorney.
Nicole is the current IPSANZ QLD committee Chairperson and is on the panel of probono lawyers for The Arts Law Centre.
